Tulsa Drillers News Release
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR- The Tulsa Drillers kicked off a twelve-game road trip on Tuesday facing the Arkansas Travelers. Runs continued to be difficult to come by as the Drillers were shut out 1-0 for the second straight game. The road trip is the first of two twelve-game road trips scheduled this season.
The only run in the game came in the fourth inning. A single followed by back-to-back walks loaded the bases for Arkansas. With one out, the Drillers attempted a 5-4-3 double play but second baseman Michael Busch dropped the ball on the transfer, allowing the runner from third to score. It gave the Travelers the only run they would need.
Tulsa attempted a rally in the eighth. Following a single from Hunter Feduccia, pinch hitter Ryan Noda, who is usually a starter, reached first on a base hit. One batter later, Donovan Casey hit a single that appeared deep enough to score Feduccia, but a strong throw from right fielder, Keegan McGovern, nailed Feduccia at the plate, ending the rally.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
*The Drillers out hit Arkansas 8-4 in the game.
*Added to the roster today, Cyrillo Watson threw 2.0 innings giving up one hit and two walks, while striking out two.
*Casey was the only Tulsa batter with two hits for the game.
*The Drillers have not scored a run in 26 consecutive innings.
