Dragons Place Armstrong on Disabled List

June 3, 2015 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Dayton Dragons News Release

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster changes today:

Right-handed pitcher Mark Armstrong has been placed on the disabled list with a right elbow sprain.

Left-handed pitcher Junior Morillo has been promoted to Dayton from extended spring training.

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

Armstrong left Monday's game with elbow soreness in the sixth inning. He is expected to miss at least two starts but could return to action to start the second half in late June. Armstrong has made 10 starts and one relief appearance for the Dragons this season, going 3-2 with a 2.86 earned run average.

Morillo began the 2014 season in the Dragons starting rotation but suffered an elbow injury in his first start and missed the remainder of the season. He underwent "Tommy John" reconstructive elbow surgery and has not pitched in an official game in 2015. Morillo has pitched in the Reds organization since signing as an international free agent in 2009.

The Dragons open a six-game road trip tonight in Clinton, Iowa against the Clinton Lumber Kings at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).
