Streaks: Dayton: Lost 2 (Won 9 of last 13). Bowling Green: Won 2.

Last Game: Bowling Green defeated Dayton 5-1 to win their second straight game in the series. The Hot Rods try for a sweep tonight. BG starting pitcher Kyle Lobstein worked the first six innings, allowing just two hits and no runs with three walks and seven strikeouts to earn the win. The Hot Rods were led offensively by third baseman Julio Cedeno, who went 4 for 5 with a double. The Dragons finished with four hits. Frank Pfister had two hits including a home run.

Today's Starting Pitcher: Clayton Shunick makes his seventh start for the Dragons tonight. Shunick started last Saturday at Lansing and earned the win, despite allowing five runs before an out was recorded in the first inning (6.0 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 1 SO). Shunick was the Reds fifth round draft pick in 2008 out of North Carolina State University, where he earned Collegiate Baseball 2nd Team All-American honors. Shunick pitched at Billings in 2008 after being drafted but missed all of 2009 after undergoing "Tommy John" reconstructive elbow surgery. He opened this season at extended spring training before an assignment to Billings at the start of the Pioneer League season. In seven starts with the Mustangs, he went 3-1 with a 4.00 ERA. In three straight starts in July, he worked at least six innings and allowed one run or less.
