Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that River Bandits outfielder Rainel Rosario has been named the Minor League Player of the Month for August.

Rosario hit .300 with seven home runs and 20 RBI in 27 games. He finished the month with an OPS of 1.121 and he drew 22 walks.

He is the third Bandit to earn monthly recognition from the parent club. Shelby Miller was named Pitcher of the Month for July after Scott Schneider was honored for his efforts in April.

Rosario was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Cardinals back in April of 2006 out of Caraballeda, Venezuela. Rosario and Bandits close out a three-game series with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Friday night at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin.
