Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, CA - Following a brief trip to Las Vegas this weekend, the Grizzlies return to Fresno to open another eight-game homestand at Chukchansi Park on Tuesday, May 27th when they welcome the Tacoma Rainiers to town. The homestand, which includes games against Tacoma and Tucson, is highlighted by the Drag Kings Bobble Doll giveaway and Christian Fellowship Day, which features a post-game concert.
The Grizzlies return to Chukchansi Park on Tuesday, May 27th to open a four-game series with the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Like all Tuesdays at the Park, May 27th is a Taco Tuesday, presented by 95.7 The Fox, where all tacos, taquitos, churros (all game long), and 16oz Tecate beers are just $2. May 28th is Way Back Wednesday, presented by The Fresno Bee, where kids 12-and-under, seniors (55+), and military personnel (with valid ID) can buy a ticket for just $1.
Thursday, May 29th is the fourth Thirsty Thursday of the spring, presented by 104.1 âIt Just Rocks'. 12oz. Tecate Light beers are available until the 5th inning for just $1, and dollar-sodas are available all night long. Thirsty fans can take advantage of a new special at Chukchansi Park, where a package including a ticket to the next two Thirsty Thursday games, and a specially designed "I Am Thirsty Thursday" t-shirt, is just $20.
The first 1,000 fans into the Park on Friday, May 30th will receive an Orange-Out t-shirt, compliments of Rally's, as the Grizzlies continue to encourage the Chukchansi Park faithful to help create the best home-field advantage in the Pacific Coast League. Immediately following the final out, fans will be treated to a fantastic Friday Night Fireworks show- presented by Bingham Toyota.
Saturday, May 31st, when the Grizzlies open a four-game series against the Tucson Sidewinders, is one of the most eagerly anticipated sports giveaways of the 2008 season. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a Drag Kings Bobble Doll, presented by Tickets.com. The Drag Kings, Minor League Baseballs' premier infield-dragging dance crew, will be immortalized in a desktop collectible, and will also perform on the field that night.
The Drag Kings performance on May 31st however, will have a different twist. Beginning on Friday May 23rd, fans can visit fresnogrizzlies.com, the official online home of the Grizzlies, and vote for which song they'd like to have accompany the Saturday night Drag Kings performance. One lucky fan will even win the opportunity to drag and dance with the Kings at a future game.
Additionally on Saturday, Kellie Greenwald, the sister of Grizzlies' radio play-by-play broadcaster Doug Greenwald will be signing copies of her book, Kellie's Book--The Art of the Possible on the main concourse. Through her artwork, the book chronicles the life of Kellie (age 30) who has Down Syndrome.
Sunday, June 1st, a Save Mart Sunday, will be a very special day at the ballpark, and not only because of a pre-game autograph session with Grizzlies players courtesy of ABC30 or because Del Taco gives kids the opportunity to run the bases following the game. June 1st is Christian Fellowship Day at Chukchansi Park, presented by Fresno Pacific University. Immediately following the contest, fans will be treated to a concert by Fresno's own Jon Shabaglian, and nationally-acclaimed Christian recording artist Todd Agnew.
On Monday, June 2nd, fans can take advantage of the best deal in baseball, the Monday Madness package, presented by Wienerschnitzel. Two tickets, two hot dogs, two sodas, and two Island Waterpark passes, all for just $14. Finally, the Grizzlies wrap up the homestand the same way it began on Taco Tuesday, June 3rd , presented by 95.7 The Fox. All tacos, taquitos, churros (all game long), and 16oz Tecate beers are just $2.
The Grizzlies open their fourth homestand of the summer on Tuesday, May 27th at 7:05pm when they take on the Tacoma Rainiers. For more information regarding tickets, promotions, and Grizzlies' baseball, visit fresnogrizzlies.com or call 559.320.HITS.
