Iowa Cubs News Release

It was a pitchers dual as the Iowa Cubs defeated the Oklahoma RedHawks 1-0 at Principal Park on Friday night.

Iowa's Randy Keisler and Oklahoma's A.J. Murray both lasted eight innings and struck out seven batters. However, it was Murray who gave up the winning run.

The score was tied at zero until the bottom of the eighth inning when Eric Patterson doubled to right field.

Patterson then stole third base, his third stolen base in as many games, and scored on Matt Murton's single.

Neal Cotts picked up his second save and Keisler earned his fourth win for Iowa.

Murray (2-2) took the loss for Oklahoma.

The Cubs and RedHawks meet for game two tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at Principal Park.
