Bats Power Kinston Indians to Win Over Fredericksburg: The Down East Wood Ducks, playing as the Kinston Indians defeated the Fredericksburg Nationals 6-2, Friday night at Grainger Stadium. The offense was powered by two homeruns and the pitching tallied 17 strikeouts en route to the Indians' 15th win of the season.

GOING, GOING, GONE: For the second time this series, the Wood Ducks have tallied a multi-homerun game and won. It started with a 2-1 win on Thursday with homeruns by Cody Freeman and a walkoff by Dustin Harris. The offense exploded on Friday as Cristian Inoa launched a three-run homerun and Randy Florentino capped the game with a solo shot as the Wood Ducks won 6-2 on Friday.

YOU GOTTA BE FIRST: This season the Wood Ducks are outscoring opponents 85-71. However, when Down East scores first, they are 13-2 and are outscoring opponents 15-8 in the first inning.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING: After falling to the Fredericksburg in the first two games in the series, the Wood Ducks have won back-to-back games to even the series. Down East won 2-1 on Thursday and carried the momentum into Friday's game with a 6-2 win.

IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT: The Wood Ducks are in search of their first home series win of the season. Their first home series of the season ended with a 3-3 split against the Carolina Mudcats. Since the first game of the season, the Wood Ducks have been in first place. They were tied atop the Central division with the Carolina Mudcats, before sweeping Kannapolis in the first series of 2021, while the Mudcats went 5-1 in their first series. Since then, Down East has had sole possession of first place, with three games being the highest mark of the season.
