Great Lakes Loons News Release
MIDLAND, Mich. - In mid-June, Stadium Journey published a list 'Ranking the Ballparks in the State of Michigan' and out of the 11 parks considered, Dow Diamond was crowned as the #1 park in the state, beating out other minor league venues, Division I college parks, and even the Major League home of the Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park.
"It is an honor to be named 'Michigan's Best'," Loons President and General Manager Paul Barbeau said. "We take pride in making Dow Diamond a venue for affordable family entertainment as well as an ideal environment for minor league player development. Stadium Journey's recognition is a credit to all the Loons fans, partners and staff who have helped make Dow Diamond such an impressive venue."
Within the park's specific review, Dow Diamond received an overall score of 4.4 stars out of 5 and earned its highest marks in the Food & Beverage, Atmosphere, Access, and Return on Investment categories. The review praises the park as 'one of the best, if not THE best minor league ballpark in baseball...beautiful, ideally located, comfortable, and unique...one of the jewels of the minor league baseball world.'
