BINGHAMTON, NY - Thursday's doubleheader split against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies featured some Trenton Thunder history, with the bats warming up for a Game 2 loss after a fast loss in the opener.

Game 1 of the doubleheader was the fastest game in Trenton Thunder and Binghamton Rumble Ponies history. In just 79 minutes, your Thunder fell 2-0 in seven innings. Starter Daniel Camarena was tagged for one earned run in a complete game loss, while Trenton sent just one man over the minimum to the plate against Binghamton starter, Corey Oswalt. The first two men singled to begin the first inning, and he recorded 21 straight outs to finish the game.

The previous record for fastest game in Trenton's 24-year history was 86 minutes set July 29, 2004 in Norwich, Conn. against the Norwich Navigators.

Game 2 featured early offense, highlighted by Nick Solak as part of a 4-1 Thunder victory. In his second game since his promotion from High-A Tampa, the second baseman cranked a solo home run to left field just two batters into the game for an early lead.

Binghamton rallied with a run in the 2nd inning before Trenton used a leadoff single by Jeff Hendrix, double by Solak and then RBI single by Fleming to take a 2-1 lead with no outs. Three batters later there were two outs and it was still a 2-1 lead with runners at first and third base when Zack Zehner laced a triple to right-centerfield to make it 4-1.

Jose Mesa Jr. got the start and fired a career-high 68 pitches over five innings to earn his first Double-A win. Then Cody Carroll entered out of the bullpen for two scoreless innings to earn his first Double-A save.
