Doubledays Scheduled to Open Home Slate Tomorrow at 7:05 pm against West Virginia

Auburn, NY - The Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn League, Single-A Short Season affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are excited to announce their home opener tomorrow night against the West Virginia Black Bears will feature special promotions for fans and post- game fireworks.

The gates for the home opener will open at 5:00 PM tomorrow evening and the first 1,000 fans will receive schedule magnets presented by Wegmans. Fans who arrive early and are of legal drinking age can also take part in a pre-game happy hour from 5:00-7:00 PM featuring two-for- one 20oz domestic draft beers.

"After starting the season with six road games, we wanted to give fans even more reasons to come out to the ballpark for our home opener," General Manager Mike Voutsinas said.

Mayor Michael Quill will throw out the ceremonial first pitch with singer and songwriter Rachael Tissot singing the National Anthem. The United States Army Auburn Recruiting Station will present our Nation's Colors during the National Anthem.

After the game, Wegmans, Finger Lakes News Radio WAUB, and The Wall 99.3 will present postgame fireworks. Immediately following the fireworks, fans will have the opportunity to play Launch-A-Ball and win a 2014 Washington Nationals team signed baseball.

The home opener against the West Virginia Black Bears tomorrow, June 25th, at 7:05 PM also marks the first ever meeting between the Black Bears and the Doubledays. West Virginia relocated from Jamestown during this past offseason.
