Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

GAME HIGHLIGHTS: The Williamsport Crosscutters fell to 0-3 in extra-inning play this season, as they were defeated 5-3 by the visiting Auburn Doubledays Wednesday night at Historic Bowman Field.

Auburn broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third, as Matt Skole drilled a two-run double to center for a 2-0 lead. Angelbirth Montilla's RBI single one inning later increased the Doubledays lead to 3-0.

Doubledays starter Brian Dupra was highly effective for the visitors, firing six shutout frames to keep his team in front. The Cutters immediately jumped on reliever Travis Henke in the seventh, as a two-run single by Luis Unda and an RBI double by Bob Stumpo tied the game at 3-3.

The score stayed tied through the top of the eleventh inning, when Skole's one-out, two-run single gave Auburn a 5-3 lead in extras. Skole finished 3 for 6 with four RBI's in the matchup.

Auburn righty Ben Grisz fired 3.2 shutout innings of relief to close out the game for the visitors.
