Aberdeen, MD - The Aberdeen IronBirds blew a lead in the ninth inning, but won the game an inning later, 7-6 over the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Glynn Davis was the catalyst for the IronBirds in the first inning. He lined the first pitch he saw down the left field line for a double. After he stole third, Starr hit a sacrifice fly that made it 1-0 Aberdeen.
The IronBirds added to their lead in the second. Austin Goolsby reached on a one out walk, and Dudley Leonora followed that up with a single. Two batters later, Davis hit a two-RBI single making it 3-0 IronBirds.
Aberdeen added more runs in the third. Wynston Sawyer led off with a double, and Connor Narron followed him immediately with a double of his own, scoring Sawyer. Narron advanced to third on an Austin Goolsby single and scored on an Austin Knight sac fly, making it 5-0 Aberdeen.
Brooklyn sent six batters to the plate in the top of the fourth, scoring two runs off of one IronBirds error, a single, a double and a sac fly, making it 5-2.
Aberdeen countered with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Martin Serrata hit a bunt single and would later score on a Mychal Givens sac fly to center, pushing the Aberdeen lead back to four.
Brooklyn scored twice in the sixth, and once each in the eighth and ninth to send the game to extra innings with the score tied at six.
