WILLIAMSPORT, PA - It was a close game the entire night that eventually went in favor of the Crosscutters as Williamsport defeated Auburn 5-4 in eleven innings.

The Doubledays took the lead early on in the second. With one out, Jakson Reetz singled and reached second on a throwing error by the Crosscutters' shortstop Grenny Cumana. The next batter Randy Encarnacion stepped in and hit a two-run homer to left for his first home run of the season.

In the bottom of the second, Williamsport responded. Brendon Hayden ledoff with a double into right and advanced to third on a wildpitch. Two batters latter, Carlos Duran drove him in with a sacrifice fly.

Auburn added to its lead in the fourth when Reetz reached on an error by William Cucias the third baseman. Two batters later, Jake Jefferies notched the first hit and RBI of his professional career with a double to right. The Doubledays went up 4-1 in the seventh thanks to an RBI double from Kelvin Gutierrez that scored Max Schrock, who also made his professional debut tonight.

An inning later in the bottom of the eighth, the first three hitters walked for Williamsport before Josh Tobias stepped in. The seocnd baseman then hit a double into right center to score all three and tie the game up at four.

After a scoreless ninth, tenth, and top of the eleventh, Carlos Duran stepped in. Earlier in the night, the outfielder had ended an 0-22 slump with a single in the eighth. Ryan Brinley tried to jam him inside, but Duran turned on the pitch and hit a walkoff solo-homer over the left field wall to give Williamsport the 5-4 win.

The loss dropped the Doubledays to 6-6 on the season and six game back of the Crosscutters in the Pickney division who now sit at 11-1 and 7-0 at home.
