Donati Wins Leading Scorer Award

The ECHL announced on Monday that Elmira Jackals forward Justin Donati has won the Leading Scorer Award for the 2010-2011 season. Donati led the ECHL with 94 points and 67 assists this season.

The Oakville, Ontario native was second in the league last season with 104 points (42-62) behind only twin-brother Tyler Donati (114 points) on his way to being named the ECHL Rookie of the Year.

The Donatis are the first set of brothers to win the league scoring title in the 23-year history of the ECHL.

Donati also topped the ECHL this season with 26 power-play assists and was third with 33 power-play points. He tied for second in the league with four shorthanded goals.

Since joining the Jackals prior to the 2009-2010 season, Donati has collected a league-best 198 points and 129 assists.

The Jackals host the Greenville Road Warriors in Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-five Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
