Defensemen Ryan Donald and Alain Goulet Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defensemen Ryan Donald and Alain Goulet have been assigned to the Royals from the Providence Bruins of the AHL. Also, in other transactions completed today, (i) forward John Scrymgeour was returned to the Royals from the Portland Pirates of the AHL; (ii) defenseman Cody Wild was activated from the 21-Day Injured Reserve; and (iii) defenseman Louis Liotti was activated from the 3-Day Injured Reserve.

This marks the third time that Donald, a first year pro from St. Albert, Alberta, has been assigned to Reading. In forty-five games with the Royals, he has registered twelve points (3g-9a) and 101 penalty minutes, while playing to a team leading plus-19 (+19). In thirteen games with the P-Bruins this year, Donald picked up two points (0g-2a) and thirteen penalty minutes. This is the second time that Goulet, a second year pro from Kapuskasing, Ontario, has been assigned to Reading. In forty-three games with the Royals, Goulet has eighteen points (4g-14a) and twenty-nine penalty minutes. In sixteen games with the P-Bruins, Goulet has eight points (2g-6a) and ten penalty minutes. Scrymgeour, a first year pro from Pickering, Ontario, earned his first AHL call-up to Portland on March 30. He played three games with the Pirates without registering any points or penalty minutes. Scrymgeour has twenty-two points (10g-12a) and forty-eight penalty minutes in fifty-five games with Reading. Wild, a third year pro from North Providence, Rhode Island, has been out of the Royals' line-up since February 23. Wild has eleven points (1g-10a) and four penalty minutes in twenty-five games with Reading. Liotti, a second year pro from Westbury, New York, has been out of the Royals' lineup since March 20. Liotti has thirteen points (0g-13a) and twenty-two penalty minutes in fifty-seven games with Reading this season.

The Royals kick off the Kelly Cup Playoffs with Game One of the best-of-five Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Tuesday, April 5 @ 7:05 pm at the Sovereign Center.
