Reno Aces News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Tommy Henry's and Drey Jameson's brilliance on the mound, along with a clutch two-run home run by Stone Garrett, secured the Reno Aces (24-21) doubleheader sweep over the Oklahoma City Dodgers (27-18), 12-0 and 4-2, Thursday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
With the pair of wins, the Aces are now three games over .500 for the first time this season and complete their first doubleheader sweep since August 23, 2021, at Salt Lake.
Also, Reno's game one shutout was the first handed to Oklahoma City since 2021's Opening Night, a span of 171 games. The Aces pitching staff limited the Dodgers' offense to score in only one inning out of the 15 played in today's doubleheader.
Every hitter in the opener of the doubleheader collected hits as recently promoted Jancarlos Cintron compiled three hits, was a home run short of the cycle and amassed two RBI and two runs scored in his 2022 Reno Aces' debut. Seth Beer added a multi-hit game that included his fourth home run, a solo shot in the third inning.
Henry (2-2) silenced Oklahoma City's offense in game one of the doubleheader with 5.1 scoreless innings on the mound as the left-hander allowed three hits, four walks, and four strikeouts en route to his second win of the season.
With the game tied at 2-2 entering the top of the eighth inning, Garrett smashed his 12th home run, a two-run shot over the centerfield wall.
In his Triple-A debut, Blake Workman (1-0) earned the win by tossing a scoreless top of the seventh inning with three strikeouts. Kevin Ginkel (S, 3) continued his dominance out of the bullpen with a scoreless eighth inning, securing the doubleheader sweep.
Jameson had his best start as a member of the Aces as the right-hander topped over 100 mph throughout his night on the mound. He held Oklahoma City to two earned runs on three hits, two walks, and a season-high 10 strikeouts in 6.0 innings pitched.
Dominic Fletcher extended his "unofficial" on-base streak to 39 games, while his hitting streak ended at 28 games. Juan Graterol's hitting streak continued to eight games with a double in the first game of the doubleheader.
