(EL PASO, Texas) - Behind the strongest outing this season from right-hander Hunter Brown, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas 7-0 on Thursday night.

Brown struck out a season-high 10 batters across a season-high seven scoreless innings without allowing a walk.

The Houston Astros' No. 1 prospect, per MLBPipeline, lowered his ERA on the season to 2.01, ranking second in the Pacific Coast League. He leads the league with 56 strikeouts, is second with a .200 opponent's batting average and fifth with a 1.14 WHIP.

Brown's 10 strikeouts were the most in a single-game for the Space Cowboys this season and are tied for the second-most in the PCL in a game this season.

Lewis Brinson and Corey Julks supplied the power for the Space Cowboys in their road win to snap a four-game losing skid.

Brinson hit a two-run homer in the third and a solo shot in the ninth, giving him a team-leading nine on the season to match Julks, who hit his ninth home run of the year in the sixth inning. Julks' two-run homer was his eighth in his last 13 games.

Brinson and Julks lead the PCL with eight home runs apiece in May. Julks .750 slugging percentage this month is also tied for first in the league.

Alex McKenna finished the night 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and an RBI single.

Ronel Blanco and Josh James followed Brown with scoreless innings of relief.

The Space Cowboys and Chihuahuas resume their six-game series at 7:35 p.m. on Friday. The Space Cowboys are scheduled to start Shawn Dubin, with the Chihuahuas starting lefty Ryan Weathers.
