Chicago Dogs News Release

In a rematch of the 2024 Eastern Division Finals, the Chicago Dogs defeated the Kane County Cougars on Friday night, 3-2.

The Cougars would score first against Dogs starter, Jeff Lindgren, as Robbie Martin hit an RBI double to right field, scoring Oscar Santos, and making it 1-0. Chicago would take the lead in the fourth inning as Jacob Teter hit a line drive over the right field wall for his fourth homerun of the season, scoring Henry Kusiak in front of him, making it 2-1.

Kane County tied it in the fifth on a sac fly by Galli Cribbs Jr., but in the top of the seventh inning, rookie Max Moris drove home Dusty Stroup with a two out, two strike single to center field and putting the Dogs up 3-2.

Lindgren tossed the first seven innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run, striking out six and walking none, earning his fourth win of the season. Dwyane Marshall pitched the final two innings scoreless, picking up his first save of the season.

The win moves the Dogs to 25-19 on the year and they maintain their first-place spot in the East. Tomorrow night for Chicago it will be Keoni Cavaco, who will be making his fifth start of the season and for the Cougars it is still TBD. First pitch set for 6:30pm.
