AA Chicago Dogs

Dogs Drop Last Game of Series, 3-1

August 22, 2024 - American Association (AA)
Chicago Dogs News Release

Jose Sermo and Griffing Doersching hit home runs and Christian Young allowed just one run over six innings of work as Milwaukee salvaged the final game of the three-game series tonight in Franklin, defeating the Dogs 3-1.

Jacob Teter started things off nicely for Chicago with his 25 th home run of the year, leading off the first, but that was the only run the Dogs would score all night against Young and three Milkmen relievers. Doersching would give Milwaukee all the runs they would need in the second with a two-run homerun to left field, his second in as many days. Jose Sermo would extend the lead to 3-1 with his 20 th homerun of the season in the third inning.

Kenny Serwa suffered the loss, but he was terrific for Chicago tonight. He went seven innings, allowing five hits and three runs with one walk and five strikeouts. The loss dropped him to 5-6 on the year. Young earned the win for Milwaukee, throwing six innings, giving up just the Teter homerun and three hits overall, striking out six, improving to 2-0.

The Dogs are back at Impact Field tomorrow night for their final homestand of the season. They welcome in the Lake Country Dockhounds over the weekend for three games. John Baker (5-3 4.02) gets the start for Chicago while Brett Conine (6-4 4.15) gets the nod for the Dockhounds. All Chicago Dogs games are streamed, live and free on aabaseball.tv.
