Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Augusta GreenJackets Sunday afternoon in front of 3,387 fans and nearly 60 dogs for the first annual Bark in the Park at State Mutual Stadium. This was the Braves third straight win and sixth victory in nine games over Augusta.

The Braves took the lead early in the bottom half of the first inning on a two run homer by Evan Gattis (3). Rome added another run in the third as Edward Salcedo walked and stole second and later scored on a David Rohm single giving the Braves a 3-0 advantage.

Rome added another run in the fourth inning on an RBI double by Matt Lipka making the score 4-0. Augusta scored their lone run in the top of the fifth on a fielding error by Hilton Richardson allowing Devin Harris to score. The Braves bullpen held the GreenJackets to one run the rest of the way for the 4-1 win.Aaron Northcraft (2-0) gets his second win for Rome, while Michael Kickham (1-2) gets the loss for Augusta. Kyle Mertins picks up his fourth save of the season.
