Daniel Adamson's two solo homers lifted the Lexington Legends past the Greensboro Grasshoppers 4-1 in 10 innings Sunday night at NewBridge Bank Park.

Adamson's first homer came in the fifth inning off Greensboro starter Jay Rogers and gave the Legends a 1-0 lead.

That margin held up until the Grasshoppers' Ryan Fisher homered to lead off the bottom of the ninth, sending the game to extra innings.

Adamson put the Legends back in front when he led off the 10th inning with his second home run of the game and third of the season.

The Legends then added three more runs in the 10th. Ben Orloff reached on an error by Fisher at third base. Delino DeShields bunted, and reliever Michael Brady threw to second too late to get Orloff, who had broken from first on the pitch. With runners at first and second, Jiovanni Mier, after indicating he would bunt, slapped a single down the right field line. Mier was thrown out going for second, but both Orloff and DeShields scored to give the Legends a 4-1 lead.

Greensboro put two men on in the ninth against reliever Jorge DeLeon, but DeLeon got Isaac Galloway on a fly ball to left field to end the game.

Brian Streilein (4-1), pitched the ninth and gave up the homer to Fisher, but picked up the win. Brady (3-1) took the loss. DeLeon earned his fourth save with a scoreless 10th. Starter Mike Foltynewicz allowed three hits and no runs through six innings, and Gabriel Garcia pitched shutout baseball through the seventh and eighth.

The Legends and Grasshoppers will play game two of the three-game series Monday at 12:30 p.m.

Attendance: 7,567
