December 1, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Guelph Storm News Release
USA Hockey announced Tuesday that OHL players Tanner Dickinson (Soo Greyhounds), Declan McDonnell (Kitchener Rangers) and Sasha Pastujov (Anaheim Ducks) are included on their 31-player preliminary roster for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship set to begin Dec. 26th in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alta.
Players are auditioning for a spot on the United States' 25-player roster as the Americans, who won gold last year in Edmonton, will be led by returning head coach Nate Leaman. Selection camp gets underway on Dec. 12th in Plymouth, Mich.
Dickinson, who hails from Perrysburg, Ohio, sits tied for second in Soo Greyhounds team scoring, recording 28 points (9-19-28) over 21 games this season. The fourth round pick by the St. Louis Blues in 2020 has a point in 19 of his 21 games this season, and leads the Greyhounds with 90 shots on goal.
A native of Lake View, New York, McDonnell was a seventh round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020. He's recorded 14 points (6-8-14) through 19 games with the Rangers this season after a strong rookie season in 2019-20 that yielded 21 goals and 21 assists.
Pastujov leads the Guelph Storm with 32 points (18-14-32) in 21 games. The Bradenton, Florida product was a third round pick of the Anaheim Ducks this past summer. His 18 goals and 98 shots on goal are both second-most in the Ontario Hockey League.
