Diablos win in a wild night at Cohen Stadium

El Paso, TX- There were lead changes, power outages, and rain; nevertheless the Diablos win in thrilling fashion 7-5 over the Laredo Lemurs and tie the series at 1-1.

Just like last night's game, it was a great pitching duel, starting pitcher Luis Chirinos was solid going 5.0 innings only giving up one run on six hits, with five strikeouts. The Diablos finally erupted in the fourth inning scoring three runs, to take a 3-1 lead over the Lemurs after going scoreless in the first three innings.

Two innings later the Diablos had another three run inning, and increased their lead to five over the Lemurs. What looked to be an easy win for the Diablos became increasingly difficult when the rain started pouring, the Lemurs struck for four runs in the top of the eighth inning to cut the Diablos lead to one. As the rain settled so did the Diablos, they eventually stopped the Lemurs in the eighth and added on another run to take a 7-5 lead and eventual win. The Player of the game was undoubtedly newcomer Devin Thaut who went four for five with one RBI.

The Diablos have now stopped their 10 game losing streak with this win tonight and tie the series at 1-1 with two more to go in their four game series against Laredo, the Diablos play tomorrow night, 6:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
