John Holdzkom came in relief of Freddy Flores to record the last out in the top of the third. Trey Ford would walk to start the bottom of the fourth for the Sox and later scored on a sacrifice fly to center off the bat of Adam DeLaGarza, making it 5-2. Carr's replacement was Sergio Espinosa. Sox left fielder, Patton singled in a run and ended the game with three runs batted in. Chris Grossman reached on an error by the shortstop and then Brandon Jones singled and on the same play, advanced to third after Jamar Walton misplayed the grounder in left. The next batter, Trey Ford picked up an RBI with a groundout to the shortstop. The first two runs of the inning were charged to Ryan Carr while the other three were unearned to the line of Espinosa, who went two-thirds and gave up two hits.
