Diablos win a 9-6 thriller over Canaries

El Paso, TX- The Diablos bounced back by taking the first game of their four game series with the Sioux Falls Canaries in a thrilling 9-6 win that came down to the wire, to go up 1-0 in the series!

The Diablos had a great start scoring four runs in the first inning thanks to RBIs from, shortstop Maikol Gonzalez, left fielder Brian Joynt, and designated hitter Murray Watts to go up 4-1.

Both teams went back and forth throughout the game, and in the top of the six innings the Canaries tied the game at 6-6, but the Diablos bats were consistent throughout the whole game, racking up 16 hits against the Canaries pitching staff, and scoring one run in four consecutive innings. The biggest hit coming in the eighth inning from catcher Thomas McAlpine (RBI Single), to put the Diablos up by three runs going into the ninth, and an eventual 9-6 win for the Diablos.

It was a big win for the Diablos tonight; the Diablos were 1-9 in their last ten games, before tonight's win. The Diablos play tomorrow night; 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium in the second game of their four game series against the Canaries.
