Wichita Wingnuts News Release

WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wingnuts, in conjunction with Midwest Dairy Association and Hiland Dairy, will host Dairy Farmer Appreciation Night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Tuesday, June 25th.

The partnership coincides with the celebration of June Dairy Month and focuses on raising awareness of Feeding America and Midwest dairy farmers' commitment to feeding the nation. The Kansas Food Bank, a local affiliate of Feeding America, will be on-site at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium to collect non-perishable food items or cash donations from fans attending the 7:05 p.m. game against the Laredo Lemurs.

All fans donating five non-perishable food items or $5 cash will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win Wichita Wingnuts' memorabilia, a Hiland Dairy prize package, or the grand prize--a Kindle Fire.

Complimentary general admission vouchers for Tuesday's game are available at Wichita area QuikTrips while supplies last.

Midwest dairy farmers have partnered with Feeding America and local food banks, such as The Kansas Food Bank, to help raise awareness of hunger in our nation and to improve nutrition security. According to a 2011 Feeding America study, food insecurity affects 428,490 Kansas residents.
