El Paso Diablos News Release

EL PASO, TX - The El Paso Diablos have sold the contract of INF Omar Luna to the Atlanta Braves organization. Luna is expected to report to their AA affiliate in Mississippi. The Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic native joined the Diablos June 8th, but made his time in El Paso valuable.

Luna, 26, was started in El Paso on June 8th, and made an immediate impact in the lineup; leading the team in batting averages when he was signed by the Braves with a .360 AVG. In his 13 games with the Diablos, the 3rd baseman recorded 50 at bats, 6 runs, 18 hits, and 6 runs batted in.

"We are excited about this opportunity for Omar. It is the goal of every independent player to be picked up by an affiliated organization, and we hope he is successful in his future," said Director of Baseball Operations, Shawn Suarez.
