El Paso Diablos News Release

EL PASO, TX- The Diablos erased a 12-5, late-inning deficit against the visiting Sioux City Explorers with four runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to complete another inspiring comeback at Cohen Stadium.

Jermy Acey's two run triple tied the score in the eighth, and Zane Chavez's single up the middle completed the comeback after El Paso had fallen behind thanks to some erratic pitching.

El Paso began its comeback in the seventh, plating four runs to draw to within three. Then, in the eighth with the score 12-9, Mitch Einertson led off the frame with his sixth home run to pull El Paso to within two. Chris Bodishbaugh surrendered all four runs in the frame as Acey and Chavez combined to give the Diablos the one-run advantage.

Marcel Prado pitched a scoreless ninth for his 13th save as the Diablos moved to within six games of first place. El Paso is 36-39 entering game two of the series on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
