
RailCats Release Tomochika Tsuboi, Sign Rookie Outfielder

LINCOLN, Neb. - The RailCats have released Japanese outfielder Tomochika Tsuboi. The former Japanese major leaguer hit .250 with two doubles and two RBI in five games.
To fill his roster spot, the 'Cats signed rookie outfielder Trevor Willis. Willis hit .146 (7-for-48) in 15 games with Joliet in the Frontier League and was traded to the White Sands Pupfish of the Pecos League on June 11. Willis hit .247 (19-for-77) in 25 games with White Sands. In 2011, he was third-team All-Big Ten as a senior at Iowa, leading the Big Ten with nine triples, which ranked second in the nation.
The RailCats active roster now stands at the league maximum of 22 players.
