El Paso, TX - The Diablos sent the big crowd home on a high note in the final game in 2009 as they claimed a dramatic 5-4 come from behind victory over the Fort Worth Cats at Cohen Stadium on Sunday night. El Paso completes the season by taking three out of four from the playoff bound Cats, and finish up by winning four out of their last five.

The Cats' put the Diablos in an early hole by scoring two runs in the second and third innings to take a 4-0 lead. El Paso never gave up as they scored one run on a fourth inning Juan Camacho RBI single. El Paso made the game 4-2 when Kennard Bibbs tripled to lead off the sixth inning and was brought in by a Jonathan Reynoso sacrifice fly. El Paso took the lead in dramatic fashion in the eighth inning. They loaded up the bases with two outs and then Jeff Vincent did the honors of bringing them all in with a bases clearing triple. Mike Cervera came on and pitched the ninth inning to pick up his ninth save of the season.

The offense used a team effort to get to 11 hits on the night. Juan Camacho went 2-3 with an RBI and will finish the 2009 season on a 23 game hitting streak. Jeff Vincent had the big blast to win the game and finished the night 2-4 to go along with adding his 21st stolen base. Arnoldo Ponce joined Vincent and Bibbs by getting a triple and finished 2-4 while Eddy Rodriguez also went 2-3 with a double.

Garvis Romero started the game and worked through five innings allowing all four runs on ten hits before giving way to the bull pen. The bull pen used four different pitchers who all did fine work in shutting the Cats down over the final four innings. Joe Klein, Johnny Dillard, Chris Luera, and Mike Cervera all pitched one inning a piece and did not allow a run while allowing only three hits. Luera (2-0) pitched the eighth inning and was credited with the win.

The Diablos end the second half of the season with a 21-27 record and finish 2009 with a 42-54 record. They now look to carry the momentum of a strong finish to the season into 2010.
