Lincoln took the lead with two runs in the second inning and never looked back en route to an easy win over Sioux Falls. With that victory, and a Wichita loss, Lincoln clinched the second half North Division title and a spot in the playoffs. Saltdogs starting pitcher Justin Knoff allowed one run on four hits while striking out a pair in five innings of work to earn the win and improve to 1-1 with the club. Lincoln RF Rafael Alvarez did the bulk of the damage at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI. C Shawn McGill also homered for the Saltdogs. He finished the contest 1-for-4.

Grand Prairie 5, Wichita 3

Grand Prairie starting pitcher Cody Crowell allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out five in eight innings of work to lead the AirHogs past Wichita on the road. With the win, Crowell ran his mark to 9-5 on the season. Grand Prairie 3B Cesar Nicolas was 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead the offensive effort. CF Drew Holder also pitched in with a 3-for-4 effort in which he scored twice. AirHogs closer James Morrison retired the side in order in the ninth inning to earn his 20th save.

The Pensacola Pelicans made short work of Shreveport-Bossier, blanking the Captains in a game that was over in 1 hour, 31 minutes, the shortest nine-inning game in American Association history. Pelicans starter Kieran Mattison scattered four hits and struck out two in five innings of work to earn the win and improve to 6-3. Pensacola 1B Chase Burch led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. C Adam Deleo also had a good game, going 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

St. Paul 5, Sioux City 3

St. Paul starting pitcher Tom Buske allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out two in six innings pitched to lead St. Paul by Sioux City, 5-3. With the victory, Buske ran his mark to 5-5 on the year. Saints 2B Alex Fonseca led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a run scored, a stolen base and a RBI. LF Josh Alley chipped in with a 1-for-5 effort in which he drove in a pair of runs. St. Paul finished the second half at 26-22, but it wasn't enough as Lincoln clinched the North Division title and the final playoff berth.

El Paso 5, Fort Worth 4

Trailing 4-2 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, the El Paso Diablos rallied for three runs to take a 5-4 lead and went on to win by that same margin. El Paso RF Jeff Vincent led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. 3B Juan Camacho chipped in with a 2-for-3 night, including a RBI and a run scored. El Paso reliever Chris Luera was credited with the win, improving his record to 2-0, while fellow reliever Mike Cervera notched his ninth save.
