
Playoff bound Wingnuts finish regular season

Wichita, KS- The Wingnuts fell to the the Grand Prairie AirHogs 5-3 on Sunday at Lawrence Dumont Stadium, finishing the regular season with a league-best record of 58-38.
Grand Prairie touched Wingnuts starter Brad Davis for three runs before he departed after three innings of work. Five Wingnuts relievers combined to throw the final six innings, with the AirHogs picking up two more runs off Joe D'Allesandro in the seventh. Trailing 5-0, Wichita scored a pair of runs on an RBI single by Josh Horn in the bottom of the inning and one more in the eighth on an RBI single by John Martin.
Cesar Nicholas led Grand Prairie with two hits and three RBI, While Drew Holder chipped in three hits and two runs, helping pitcher Cody Crowell record his ninth win of the season. Kelly Hunt and Dustan Mohr led the Wingnuts with two hits each.
The playoff bound Wingnuts will now travel to Lincoln to face the Saltdogs in the best-of-five North Division Finals on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wichita will host Lincoln in game three on Friday at 7:05 p.m. For tickets call the Wingnuts office at (316) 264-4625.
