EL PASO, TX- The Sioux Falls Pheasants rallied for nine runs over their final two innings at the plate to overcome a five-run deficit and beat the Diablos 11-7 in the 2012 season finale at Cohen Stadium.

El Paso had built its lead on a solo home run by Jermy Acey in the second inning and a five run fourth, and added another run in the sixth. Led by three hits from leadoff man Maikol Gonzalez, the Diablos led 7-2 into the eighth.

But with Justin Harper (4-3) on the mound, El Paso's lead quickly vanished. Harper hit two of the first four batters he faced and soon gave way to Marcel Prado with the lead down to 7-5. Nick Judkins singled in two runs off Marcel Prado to tie the game, and Jared Bolden's infield single gave Sioux Falls the lead.

The Pheasants added two more runs in the top half of the ninth to lead 11-7, while the Diablos went down quietly in their final two innings at the plate. Kyle Mertins (4-1) earned the win with two frames of scoreless relief.

The Diablos finish the year 47-53 after a 3-16 and 7-27 start.
