Diablos dominate Wingnuts winning 10-5

El Paso Diablos News Release

El Paso, TX- The American Associations best team was once again no match for the Diablos, as the Diablos thoroughly dominated the Wingnuts from start to finish winning 10-5, and taking a 2-0 series lead.

The Diablos had their best start to a game this season, scoring seven runs in the first inning alone. The Wingnuts would not prove easy losers though, as they scored three runs in the second inning to cut the Diablos lead to four.

After the first two innings both teams settled down offensively, more so the Diablos than the Wingnuts. Wichita slowly crept back into the game and at one point cut the Diablos lead down to two, after facing a seven run deficit. The Diablos quickly squashed any hopes of a Wichita comeback win, as they scored three runs in the sixth inning to push their lead back up to five.

After the Diablos three run six inning the Wingnuts could not strike across another run, and lost their second straight game to the Diablos. It was an all-around team effort for the Diablos tonight; four different Diablos had two or more RBIs (Maikol Gonzalez, Jose Garcia, Juan Apodaca, and Sergio Burruel).

The Diablos are now 22-46 this season with one more game against the Wichita Wingnuts, in which the Diablos are in place to sweep the American Associations best team, the Diablos play tomorrow night, 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
