Fargo-Moorhead 3, St. Paul 1

Three runs in the top of the first stood up for the RedHawks because of Taylor Stanton's terrific outing on the mound. The Fargo-Moorhead starter only gave up one run on four hits across seven innings, leading the RedHawks to a 3-1 win.

The Saints' only run against Stanton came on a solo home run by Willie Cabrera in the right-hander's last inning of work. Prior to that, only one St. Paul baserunner reached scoring position. Other than that, Stanton did not allow so much as a threat to the RedHawks' early-established lead.

Fargo-Moorhead gained that lead on just three swings in the first. Zach Penprase led off with a walk, then stole second and moved to third on an error behind the plate. With one out and Penprase still on third, Nic Jackson double to right field, giving Fargo-Moorhead the first run of the game. C.J. Retherford was up next and he also doubled to bring Jackson home. Finally, Keith Brachold matched his teammates with another RBI double. The RedHawks' three straight run-scoring two-baggers were plenty of support for Stanton, who earned his sixth win of the season.

Kansas City 7, Laredo 2

Early runs by the T-Bones led to a win against Laredo. Kansas City scored three runs in the second inning, followed by three more in the third and an insurance tally in the fourth, giving the T-Bones enough for a 7-2 victory.

The Lemurs delivered the first blow and they did so early. Harrison Kain began the game with a solo home run. But, Kansas City rebounded. Felix Molina tied the game with an RBI double in the second. Two batters later, Joey Gathright gave the T-Bones the lead by driving a single up the middle that scored a pair.

Kyle Nichols added to the total with a two-run homer in the third and Luis Rivera came through later in the frame with an RBI double. Nichols also gave Kansas City its insurance run in the fourth on an RBI ground out. All three run-scoring innings by the T-Bones began with a leadoff walk.
