Ontario Clippers News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (4-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, win their fourth consecutive game, defeating the Stockton Kings (1-3), 102-96, on Monday night in their home opener.
Clippers' two-way player Moussa Diabate led all scorers with a career-high 28 points and narrowly missed a double-double, pulling down eight boards.
Guard Xavier Moon led the second unit with 21 points. Juwan Morgan recorded a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double in the victory.
The Kings were led by former Clipper Jordan Ford, who recorded 24 points (11-for-16) and six rebounds in his return to Ontario.
Chima Moneke added 19 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the defeat.
It was the Clippers the entire way tonight, as they only trailed in the opening seconds after Stockton scored the first bucket of the game. Despite maintaining a steady lead, it wasn't smooth sailing for Ontario. Stockton hung in the game, never letting their deficit expand past 12 points, and made it a close contest down the stretch. After seeing their lead dwindle to two points, the Clippers responded by hitting all of their free throws in the waning seconds to seal the game.
Next up, the Clippers try to extend their winning streak, running it back against these same Stockton Kings tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15. The ballgame tips off at 7 pm PT inside the Toyota Arena.
