GREAT GABE: Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Gabe York was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Friday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 13. York averaged 31.3 points, 5.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds in four games. On Nov. 6 in a 130-123 victory over Sioux Falls, the former Arizona Wildcat connected on a buzzer-beating basket to force overtime and recorded the game-winner to reach the Final Target Score.
FULLY CHARGED: The Cleveland Charge opened Showcase Cup play with the best record in the league (4-0). The Charge is led by forward Jamorko Pickett, who's averaging a double-double of 20.0 points and 14.0 rebounds. Cleveland visits the Grand Rapids Gold (0-4) tonight at 7 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
THE MAINE THING: The Maine Celtics (3-0) join Cleveland as the only unbeaten teams in the league. Maine team has gotten strong contributions from Boston Celtics two-way player Mfiondu Kabengele (18.7 points, 11.0 rebounds) and Luka Samanic (20.3 points, 10.7 rebounds). Maine visits the Long Island Nets tonight at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
FUN FACT: Twelve 2022 NBA Draft selections have been assigned to the NBA G League this season, with 10 seeing action in games through Nov. 13.
On Sunday, Nov. 6, Mexico City Capitanes defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 120-84 in the first NBA G League game in Mexico. Capitanes forward Mason Jones tallied 32 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Mexico City . Guard Louis King registered 23 points and 11 rebounds for Rio Grande Valley.
On Nov. 13, Chicago Bulls assignee Dalen Terry finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Windy City Bulls in a 121-105 victory over the Iowa Wolves. That evening, Terry played five minutes for the Bulls against the Denver Nuggets, becoming the first player this season to play in an NBA G League and an NBA game on the same day.
Ontario Clippers assignee Brandon Boston Jr. posted 37 points, four assists and four steals in the Clippers' 130-113 win over the South Bay Lakers on Nov. 10.
Also on Nov. 10, Sioux Falls Skyforce guard DJ Stewart contributed 37 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 127-117 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Iowa Wolves two-way player Luka Garza finished with 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a 123-105 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Nov. 5.
