Albany Devils News Release

ALBANY, N.Y. - In a penalty filled contest, Adam Henrique provided the offensive touch, netting two goals in the Albany Devils 6-3 win against the Springfield Falcons Saturday at the Times Union Center. Henrique scored the team's third and fourth goals, including the game-winner, as Albany extended its winning streak to a season-long four games. Overall, the Devils are 17-20-0-3. The loss puts the Falcons at 18-18-1-3.

"I think we've found ourselves on a little bit of a run now," Henrique said. "We've been playing our best hockey since the break. We just seem to have found our stride. We have guys back in the lineup. Everyone is working; everyone is clicking together and it's just working for us right now."

Early on the Devils found their scoring prowess while killing penalties. Michael Swift scored his team-leading fourth shorthanded goal at 2:38 on a pass from Chad Wiseman. Brad Mills followed with a shorthanded, breakaway goal at 11:38.

"When it comes to the special team's battle it definitely gives you a leg up in the game - especially early like that," Mills said. "I think we all knew if we kept playing our game and worked we were going to be successful."

The physicality of the contest picked up in the second period as members of the two teams dropped the gloves three times in a four-minute span.

After the sticks and helmets were cleared, Henrique extended Albany's lead to three goals with his 10th of the season. The rookie was setup by Jacob Josefson and then fired a wrister from the right circle at 7:35.

Back-to-back strikes by Falcons' David Savard and Ben Guite pulled the score to 3-2 late in the second. Savard's goal came at 11:42 and Guite followed at 17:10.

Henrique then found the back of the net again with 49.9 seconds remaining in the period. A shot by Josefson was tipped by Henrique atop the crease to make it 4-2.

Springfield refused to go away and Chris D'Alvise pulled the game within one at 8:08 of the third.

Matt Anderson put the score out of reach with 1:11 remaining and Alexander Urbom registered an empty netter with 11 ticks left to produce the final score. It was Urbom's first professional goal and he finished the contest with a plus-5 rating.

Like the team, Mike McKenna won his fourth-consecutive outing, posting 24 saves on 27 shots. He is now 7-7-0 on the season. His counterpart, David LeNeveu, had 26 stops on 31 tries.

Albany's six goals were a season high.

The Devils remain at home for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 19 when Binghamton returns to the Times Union Center. Tickets can be purchased at the TUC Box Office or at any ticketmaster outlet. Fans can also get tickets by dialing 800-745-3000 or online at ticketmaster.com.
