May 22, 2006 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release

The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays dropped their second consecutive game to the Dayton Dragons. The game went eleven innings before Dayton finally pulled away. The Dragons moved ahead of the D-Rays for third place in the Eastern division of the Midwest League.

Greg Reinhard started for the Rays and had a great game. Reinhard pitched six innings only allowing three hits and one earned run while fanning six Dragons but failed to get his first win of the year.

Eddie DeLaCruz tossed the seventh and eighth frames and stuck out four batters while giving up one hit. Kevin Lynn took over for the final three innings and gave up the two winning runs in the eleventh. Lynn allowed four hits and two walks.

The Dragons pitching combo of Carlos Fisher, Logan Ondrusek, and Blake Hendley had a stellar performance. Together they limited the Rays to five hits and one run with 12 strikeouts.

The D-Rays scored their lone run in the second inning off of an Alex Jamieson single to centerfield with the bases loaded. Rhyne Hughes scored the run and after that the Devil Rays were unable to capitalize with the bases loaded with no outs.

The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays and Dayton Dragons will square off again tomorrow night at 6:35pm. Every Tuesday night at C.O. Brown Stadium is Red Hot Chicago Dime Dog Night. Make sure you clean out the couch cushions because until the end of the 5th inning you can get a Red Hot Chicago Hot Dog for only 10-cents courtesy of Greater Guide and Q-106.5 FM.
