Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING - Four Fort Wayne pitchers combined to hold the Lugnuts to just five hits as Lansing was shutout at home for the first time this season, falling 5-0 on Monday night before 1,668 fans. The loss is just the fifth one for Lansing at Oldsmobile Park this season.

After going up 1-0 early, the Wizards and Lugnuts became locked in a pitcher's duel. Stevie Delabar gave up just four hits to Lansing while picking up the win for Fort Wayne. Kristian Bell took the tough luck loss for the Lugnuts, tossing six innings and allowing just two runs in a quality start.

Fort Wayne extended its lead to 2-0 when Daryl Jones lifted a hme run that barely cleared the left field wall. It was his seventh blast of the year.

The Wizards plated their final two runs of the game in ninth when Kyle Blanks crushed a two run home run to left-center field to cap the scoring, as Fort Wayne took its first game of the series.

Lansing (25-18) and Fort Wayne (22-20) will finish the four game series in Tuesday morning beginning at 10:35 a.m. It will be a Grand Slam School Day at Oldsmobile Park. Russ Savickas will take the hill for the Lugnuts.
