Delisle and Niemi Assigned to Road Warriors

Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced Steven Delisle and Jyri Niemi have been assigned to Greenville by the New York Rangers from the Connecticut Whale.

Delisle, 22, played in four games with Connecticut after being sent up on December 18th. The Levise, Québec native collected two assists with a -1 rating during his brief stint. Delisle returns to the Road Warriors after playing in 29 games and scoring two goals and ten assists with a league leading +19 rating. Delisle was drafted in 2008 by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fourth round.

Niemi, 22, joins the Road Warriors after playing in five games with the Whale this season. The New York Islanders' 2008 third round draft pick played 52 games with the Road Warriors last year while scoring nine goals and 12 assists. Niemi hails from Hameenkyro, Finland.

The Road Warriors take on the Gwinnett Gladiators tonight at 7 p.m. with first place in the South Division on the line. The first 2,500 fans receive a rally towel presented by yp.com!
