Delgado Homers But Erie Comes from Behind to Down Akron 5-2

The Erie SeaWolves come from behind with two in the sixth and two in the seventh to down the Akron RubberDucks 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Canal Park.

Turning Point

After trailing 2-1 entering the sixth, Erie looked to finally answer back. Gage Workman worked a one-out walk before Daniel Cabrera launched a two-run home run to put the SeaWolves on top 3-2.

Mound Presence

Gavin Williams got the start for Akron and breezed through the Erie lineup early setting down the first six in order. Williams went on to toss six innings allowing three runs on four hits while striking out four. Jerson Ramirez followed with two-thirds of an inning allowing two runs. Eli Lingos tossed an inning and a third scoreless. Manuel Alvarez followed with a scoreless inning

Duck Tales

Akron jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the second. Micah Pries started the inning with a double before Raynel Delgado launched a two-run home run to make it 2-0 RubberDucks. Erie pitching kept the Akron offense in check the rest of the way only allowing two runners past first base the rest of the night.

Jose Tena got his fourth triple of the season, leading team and tied for fourth in Eastern League...Brayan Rocchio extended his hitting streak to six games...Game time 2:32... Attendance 4,054
