Cleveland Guardian Oscar Gonzalez to Start Rehab Tuesday at Canal Park

(AKRON, OHIO) - Cleveland Guardians outfielder Oscar Gonzalez is scheduled to play on a rehab assignment with the Akron RubberDucks on Tuesday, July 26 and Wednesday, July 27 against the Harrisburg Senators at Canal Park. Tuesday, July 26 is a 12:05 p.m. start while Wednesday, July 27 is a 6:35 p.m. first pitch.

Gonzalez will play in his first rehab game since being placed on the 10-day Injured List on July 2 with a right intercostal strain. The 2019 and 2021 Akron RubberDuck made his MLB debut in 2022 and is batting .285 with two home runs and 14 RBI over 32 games with Cleveland.

In 49 games with the RubberDucks in 2021, Gonzalez hit .330 with 13 home runs and 41 RBI.

The native of Sabana Grande de Palenque, Dominican Republic signed with Cleveland as an international free agent in July 2014.
