HARRISBURG, Pa. - Blake Sabol picked up a pair of clutch hits in the eighth and tenth inning to lead Altoona to a 3-2 win in extra innings over Harrisburg on Sunday afternoon at FNB Field.

With the game tied at one in the eighth inning, Sabol smacked his 12th homer of the season to take a 2-1 lead for the Curve. However, Harrisburg drew even in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single by Darren Baker with one out. Curve left-hander Tyler Samaniego was able to avoid further damage in the inning by getting John Nogowski to bounce into an inning-ending double play. Samaniego set down the side in order with a pair of strikeouts in the ninth to send the game to extras.

The Curve took the lead in the top of the tenth when Sabol came through with a clutch single that got past Harrisburg 3B Gilbert Lara to score Jared Triolo to take the lead. Altoona left a pair on base in the tenth inning and left nine overall on Sunday afternoon.

J.C. Flowers picked up the save needing just three pitches in the bottom of the tenth. With Dondrei Hubbard placed at second base to start the inning, Flowers got Jackson Cluff to groundout to second and just two pitches later; Harrisburg C Brady Lindsly hit a line drive back to the mound that Flowers caught and quickly threw to third base to double off Hubbard and end the game.

Altoona got a brilliant starting pitching performance from right-hander Quinn Priester on Sunday afternoon. After allowing an unearned run in the first inning, Priester allowed just three baserunners the rest of the way. At one point, Priester set down ten straight Senators before a walk to Baker in the sixth inning. Priester struck out a season-high eight batters in the win and issued one walk on 84 pitches, 50 strikes.

Matt Fraizer picked up his league leading seventh triple of the season in the third inning. He scored on an RBI groundout from Josh Bissonette. Fabricio Macias added a double in the ninth inning, picking up a hit for the 12th time in 14 games with Altoona.

The Curve continues their road trip to Bowie on Tuesday evening at 6:35 p.m. for a six-game series with the Baysox. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski takes the ball for Altoona, the Baysox will start RHP Ryan Watson.
