Delabar Promoted To Tacoma, Cooper To Jackson

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (AUGUST 5, 2011) - The Seattle Mariners have made the following roster move that affects the Jackson Generals roster prior to tonight's series opener with the Birmingham Barons at Regions Park. RHP Steve Delabar has been promoted Triple-A Tacoma and joins the Rainiers in Albuquerque. RHP Daniel Cooper has been added to the Generals roster from A+ High Desert.

Transferred to A+ High Desert:

. RHP Steve Delabar (from AA Jackson)

COOPER, 24, will join the Generals bullpen after appearing in 33 games with A+ High Desert. He posted a record of 5-2, with a 5.25 ERA and 2 saves for the Mavericks. Cooper was the Mariners 21st round selection during the 2009 draft and attended Rice University in 2006, then spent the 2008-09 seasons at University of Southern California.

DELABAR, 27, leaves Jackson after appearing in 23 games for the Generals and posting a 1-3 record, with a 2.05 ERA and 12 saves that ranked 5th in the league. Delabar joined the Generals on May 24th after pitching in 7 games for High Desert including 3 saves. Earned first Generals win in his second outing on May 29th at Mobile, pitching 3.0 scoreless innings.

The Generals roster stands at 24 active players, 12 pitchers, 2 catchers, 6 infielders, 4 outfielders and 5 disabled players.
