Defenseman Kevin Gravel Returns from Kings

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that defenseman Kevin Gravel has returned to the team on loan from the Kings. In a separate transaction, the Kings traded defenseman Christian Ehrhoff, who was currently loaned to the Reign, to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Rob Scuderi.

Gravel, 23, registered 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 42 games with the Reign this season. The Kingsford, Michigan, native earned his first NHL call-up to the Kings on February 11 and appeared in four games with the club, including his NHL debut on February 11 against the New York Islanders. During his rookie campaign last season, Gravel helped the Manchester Monarchs capture the 2015 Calder Cup Championship with 15 regular-season points (six goals, nine assists) in 58 games and five assists in 19 Calder Cup Playoff games.

Ehrhoff, 33, skated in five games with the Reign this season, adding three assists. The Moers, Germany, native started the season with the Kings where he picked up 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 40 games.

The Reign continue a five-game road trip with a pair of contests against the Texas Stars on February 26 and 27 in Cedar Park, Texas and the San Antonio Rampage on March 6 and March 9 in San Antonio, Texas.
