CLEVELAND - Prior to a Friday home clash vs. the Rockford IceHogs, Lake Erie Monsters defenseman Michael Paliotta was recalled by the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets for the first time this season. A 6'3", 207 lb. right-handed native of Westport, CT, Paliotta was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft with the 70th overall pick and has seven goals, 21 points, 25 penalty minutes and a +2 rating to his credit in 50 AHL appearances for the Monsters this season.

In one career NHL appearance for Chicago last season, Paliotta notched one assist. Prior to his professional career, Paliotta contributed 19 goals, 83 points and 185 penalty minutes in 144 career NCAA games played for the University of Vermont spanning four collegiate seasons from 2011 to 2015.
