
Dayton's drive to the championship starts in Rapid City

DAYTON, OH - The CHL announced on Sunday that the Dayton Gems will be taking on Rapid City in the opening round of the 2011 CHL Playoffs.
The Rush were the top team in the Turner Conference while the Gems finished in eighth.
The best-of-five series between the two teams will begin on Friday, April 1. The teams will play two games in Rapid City from April 1 to April 2 before coming to Dayton for the third game of the series on April 5. If necessary, the fourth game of the series will be on April 6 in Dayton.
If there is a Game 5, the series would move back to Rapid City for the finale on April 9.
During the regular season, these two teams met just twice, with Rapid City winning both games. The last time the Gems took on the Rush was on December 9 in Dayton. The Rush defeated the Gems 5-2.
Tickets for Game 3 will be on sale on Monday at the Hara Arena box office. Fans can purchase their tickets for $13 between Monday and the day of the game from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
For the away games, the Gems will be holding Watch Parties at area restaurants for fans to come together and watch the games. The location of the Watch Parties will be determined soon.
This season, the Gems' slogan for the postseason is "Drive to the Championship" presented by Joseph Airport Toyota. Joseph Airport Toyota is the official sponsor of the 2010-11 Gems Playoffs.
The Gems are also currently selling a ticket package that includes t-shirts with the "Drive to the Championship" slogan printed on the front. Fans can purchase a first round playoff ticket and a t-shirt for just $20.
Season ticket holders who have already purchased the season ticket holder playoff package can buy the t-shirts for $8.
