Mavericks to Face Wichita in Opening Round, Schedule Announced

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks will take on the Wichita Thunder in the Opening Round of the 2011 Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Playoffs starting this Wednesday, March 30 at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita. The best-of-five series will be a 1-2-1-1 format, and the fourth seeded Mavericks will host three home games (if necessary).

The Mavericks will host games two and three at Independence Events Center on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 and both games will begin at 7:05 p.m. The Mavericks will host a tailgate party starting at 4 p.m. in front of the south entrance before games two and three. Should the series reach a fifth game, it will be held at Independence Events Center on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:05 p.m.

The Mavericks earned the fourth seed in the Turner Conference with a record of 37-23-6 for 80 points. Missouri finished one point behind the Bloomington PrairieThunder for third place.
