
Americans Edge Tulsa 5-4 in OT to Achieve Road Wins Record

ALLEN, Texas- The Allen Americans defeated the Tulsa Oilers in the final game of the regular season, 5-4 in overtime Sunday afternoon at the BOK Center. The win gives the Americans 24 road victories during the season, tied for the most all-time in a single CHL season.
Gary Steffes got the scoring underway 3:35 into the game scoring a power play goal from Anthony Battaglia and Derek Eastman. Evan Kotsopoulos made it 2-0 Tulsa at 9 minutes of the period.
Brian Ihnacak made it a 2-1 game, scoring 4:06 into the second frame, with Mike Berube and Liam Huculak grabbing the assists. The goal was Ihnacak's first as an American.
Huculak scored just over three minutes later to knot the game at 2, before Sean Erikson put the Oilers back on top 11:08 into the period.
In the 3rd period, the Americans received goals from Judd Blackwater, his 20th of the season, and Jarret Lukin, his 21st, to take a 4-3 lead.
Jack Combs tied the game up at 9:40 of the third to send it to overtime.
In overtime, Nino Musitelli potted his 34th of the season to give Allen the 5-4 victory, and an overall mark of 47-16-3.
The Americans will now turn their attention to the postseason, as they attempt to put together a run through the Ray Miron Presidents' Cup playoffs.
